Crypto market continues to fluctuate as we move into the second half of the year amid a regulatory crackdown in the US. However, as trading volume continues to decline on centralized exchanges, some major crypto whales are still trading.
We decided to look at what the big six wallets of crypto whales – in investment or gambling, a “whale” refers to a player with a lot of capital in the game – are doing: where they park their funds and how their activity signals market movements, according to portfolio data in chains of the Nansen company.
The wallets are worth a combined $493.6 million, with nearly 98% of their wallets allocated to the Ethereum blockchain, data showed. The wallets and their data were selected by Nansen to detail the range of active wallets; over time, we will continue to explore other Whale wallets to expand our sample set.
Most wallets include “wrap up” crypto assets that are a tokenized version of the original coin that has the same value. For example, there is bitcoin (BTC) and twisted bitcoin (wBTC), and an investor would own the latter if they wanted to use bitcoin on the Ethereum network, which it does not operate on. Or you can through a wrapped version.
