Pedometer++ adds support for Live Activity, a map-based exercise mode for Apple Watch

With the new update to version 5.0, the app has added many new features.

First up is iPhone exercise tracking. Previously, the app only offered exercise tracking to Appel Watch users. But now anyone can view their walk data, including duration, distance speed, and more.

Thanks to this, you can now choose from many styles of Live Activity to display information on the lock screen or even Dynamic Island in the iPhone 14 Pro series. Along with duration and distance, you can even see a love map that updates your current location.

For hikers, you can now import GPX routes or save previously completed walks as favorites. You can save all these map tiles for offline access. Routes will also sync with your Apple Watch and you can share maps offline.

Speaking of Apple Watch, there’s also a new map-based exercise mode. This will display a live map on your wrist as you walk. The feature will even work with the watch’s Always-On Display, so you’ll be able to see a dimmed version of the map as it continues to update.

With the Apple Watch Ultra, you can use the Acton button to start a workout and switch between the map and metric views.

Pedometer++ is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch. It’s a free download on the App Store.

An optional Pedometer++ Premium subscription is available for $1.99 per month or $19.99 per year. You can try both options with a free 7-day trial.

Subscribers can unlock a number of additional features, including exercise tracking on your iPhone, the ability to see your position on a live map, route overlays, offline maps, Apple Watch maps and live activity.

You can also unlock other extra icons and remove all ads.
