The Aarogya Setu app can also identify hotspots around your location. By testing the app’s self-assessment, correlating the symptoms you report with your location information, the app will be able to identify potential locations early. This will help to take necessary measures to control and reduce the spread of Covid19.

The app is available in 12 languages ​​and for Android, iOS and KaiOS. Once installed, users must turn on bluetooth and set location sharing to ‘Always’ to ensure that the app is able to extract all relevant information for social benefit.

How does it work?

The Aarogya Setu app on your phone detects other devices with the same app when they come within bluetooth proximity of your phone. When this happens, both phones securely exchange the digital signature of that interaction, including time, proximity, location and duration. This information is stored on all individuals’ resources. If anyone you’ve been in contact with in the past 14 days tests positive for the coronavirus, the app calculates your risk of infection based on your close contact with that person. The app then recommends an appropriate course of action.

The action appears on the home screen of the app. The app also provides convenient health interventions as and when needed.

The app also provides a list of ICMR approved laboratories with covid19 testing facility. It provides state-wise numbers of confirmed, recovered and deceased cases of COVID 19 in the country.
